"My family thoroughly enjoyed our trip. I have a sight impairment and found the assistance to get on and off the boat particularly helpful. The boat was very quiet and stable and we all found it very relaxing, particularly listening to the river sounds. It was great to be told where to look to spot wildlife and we were given  interesting  commentary on the construction and history of other boats and the magnificent bridges and locks. Without this information I would have missed the details, but would still have enjoyed the trip.”

What we do

Floatability offers skippered, accessible boat trips on the Thames for disabled adults and children. We understand disabilities may be seen or unseen and include any combination of physical, special needs or mental health conditions. We can work with you along with carers and professionals, to provide the best service and meet your needs.

From experience we understand that getting out and about can at times be challenging, so our aim is to help people  by offering friendly, accessible leisure trips and perhaps a new hobby such as  nature spotting, art or photography. We offer a space to meet new friends and mix with different groups of people.  Everyone is unique and we celebrate all kinds of uniqueness. Sometimes just feeding the ducks is a great way to rest, recharge and experience connection.  There are often chances to see different kinds of wildlife on board. We can also do trips just for carers, or family days out with a loved one with disabilities, or larger organisations that can do multiple trips in one day.

The option of a lunch time is a chance to share the days experiences, compare nature spotting notes and enjoy a sandwich lunch or cream tea at our base. Photos can be taken with permission and emailed out as a memento.  For lunch options please see below. We have a fully accessible base with separate entrance and ample room.  Free parking and subsidised drinks.  Our slipway is just a 1.5 min walk away via pavement. We do have a spare transporter wheelchair available for use, so please let u know or any requirements and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Floatability offers skippered, accessible boat trips on the Thames for disabled adults and children. We understand disabilities are seen and unseen and may include a combination of physical, special needs or mental health conditions. We provide nature spotting, art and photography trips on the Goring on Thames stretch of the river.

Lunch time on the longer trips is a chance to share the days experiences, compare nature spotting notes and enjoy a good meal. With permission, group photos can be taken and emailed out as a memento.  Our caring and non-judgemental approach, combined with all the benefits of eco-therapy from being out on the water, creates a calm and relaxing environment where people can experience relaxation and healing.
